What to expect at Mediation
Remember, there is a $400 fine if you do not show for Mediation and have not called at least 48hrs in advance for a cancellation.
- The Mediator is a neutral party.
- Mediation is done by Volunteers of America, but will physically take place at the Tulalip Tribal Courthouse.
- The mediator's job is to help the disputants resolve the problem through a process that encourages each side to air disputes, identify the strengths and weaknesses of their case, and agree on a satisfactory solution.
- Mediation is an out of court process. This is an opportunity to create a mutually satisfying agreement and save yourselves the stress and cost of going to court.
